Capacity on a storage array that has not been assigned to a or is divided into two types: and .
Unconfigured capacity is the storage space on a storage array that you have not organized into disk groups. Another way to think of unconfigured capacity is that it is made of the physical disks that you have not assigned to disk groups. Unconfigured capacity can only be configured as disk groups.
Free capacity is the storage space in a disk group that you have not configured into virtual disks. Free capacity can only be configured as virtual disks.
