What are the restrictions when adding a physical disk?
When you add a physical disk to a storage array, you must use these guidelines:
- You must use a physical disk type that matches the other physical disks in the disk group.
- If the new physical disk is configured as a hot spare, the new physical disk must be as large or larger than the largest physical
disk.
- You might need to reconfigure the Redundant Array of Independent Disks (RAID) level of the disk group after you add a new
physical disk.
