One of the RAID controller modules in this storage array is incompatible with the other RAID controller module.
This situation can occur if RAID controller modules with different numbers of host ports are installed in the array. For example, one single host port module and one dual host port module in the same array.
The Recovery Guru Details area provides specific information you will need as you follow the Recovery Steps.
Caution: Electrostatic
discharge can damage sensitive components. Always use proper antistatic
protection when handling components. Touching components without using a proper
ground may damage the equipment.
Use the table below and the information in the Recovery Guru Details area to determine what actions to take.
|
1 |
Contact technical support to obtain a Dell-supported RAID controller module. |
|
2 |
Remove the incompatible RAID controller module listed in the Details area. Note that there may be nothing wrong with the incompatible RAID controller module and that it may be compatible with another storage array. |
|
3 |
Verify that a supported battery is installed in the replacement RAID controller module. It may be necessary to install the battery from the incompatible module. Refer to your hardware documentation for the battery removal procedure.. |
|
4 |
Make sure at least 1 minute has elapsed. Then, insert the replacement RAID controller module firmly into place. |
|
5 |
Check the RAID controller module status by clicking the Storage array profile link from the Summary tab. Then, click the RAID Controller Modules tab and scroll down to the status of the replacement RAID controller module. The RAID controller module should have an Optimal status. |
|
6 |
Click the Recheck button to rerun the Recovery Guru. The failure should no longer appear in the Summary area. |
