Removed Power Supply/Cooling Fan Module

What Caused the Problem?

A power-fan module has been removed from an enclosure in the storage array. The Recovery Guru Details area provides specific information you will need as you follow the Recovery Steps.

Caution: Electrostatic discharge can damage sensitive components. Always use proper antistatic protection when handling components. Touching components without using a proper ground may damage the equipment.

Important Note

The storage array currently does not have redundant power-fan modules. Depending on the model of your storage array, a power-fan module typically contains a power supply, a cooling fan, a temperature sensor, and a battery charging unit. When this module is removed, redundancy is lost for the storage array's power and cooling systems, and the battery pack(s) associated with the charging unit will not charge until the module is replaced. The storage array will continue to operate with the remaining power-fan module. However, failure of the remaining Power Supply/Cooling Fan module will result in a loss of access to the storage array. Therefore, make sure you correct this problem as soon as possible.
