Viewing Standard Virtual Disk Properties

Use the Virtual Disk Properties dialog to view basic information about a . The progress of the modification operation is displayed at the bottom of the dialog.

If the  is enabled and you have selected a  or a , then a Mirroring tab is available on this dialog that shows mirroring-related information.

Note: Virtual Disk properties can also be viewed in the . Use the Storage Array Profile when you want to view properties on all  at once.

Select a standard virtual disk from the Logical View.

Select Virtual Disk >> Properties.

Viewing the Progress of a Modification Operation

Important: The storage management software cannot obtain progress information from the    if the network management connection to the RAID controller modules is  or if the storage array is partially managed. For more information on a partially managed storage array or an unresponsive RAID controller module or storage array condition, see the Enterprise Management Window online help.

The progress bar at the bottom of the Virtual Disk Properties dialog displays the progress of the following operations:

Viewing Mirroring Properties

Note: Mirroring properties are only available if you have enabled the Remote Virtual Disk Mirroring Premium Feature and if you first selected either a primary or secondary virtual disk in the Logical View. If you select an unresponsive or non-optimal virtual disk, the Mirroring tab is unavailable.

From the Virtual Disk Properties dialog, select the Mirroring tab.

If you have selected a primary virtual disk, the following properties are displayed:

  • Role (Primary)
  • Mirror Status
  •  (Synchronous or Asynchronous)
  • Actual/
  • : lowest, low, medium, high, highest
  •  (manual or automatic)
  • (Secondary) virtual disk: user label of the remote secondary virtual disk
  • (Secondary) World Wide Name (WWN): WWN of the remote secondary virtual disk
  • (Secondary) storage array: WWN of the remote storage array containing the secondary virtual disk

If you have selected a secondary virtual disk, the following properties are displayed:

  • Role (Secondary)
  • Actual/
  • Synchronization priority: lowest, low, medium, high, highest
  •  Resynchronization (manual or automatic)
  • (Primary) virtual disk: user label of the remote primary virtual disk
  • (Primary) World-wide Name (WWN): of the remote primary virtual disk
  • (Primary) storage array: WWN of the remote storage array containing the primary virtual disk

Note: If the remote virtual disk in the mirrored pair is in an Unresponsive state, the following fields are displayed in place of the fields previously shown:

  • Unresponsive remote virtual disk: user label of the remote virtual disk, from last known data in the cache
  • Unresponsive remote virtual disk World Wide Name (WWN): WWN of the remote virtual disk, from last known data in the cache
  • Unresponsive remote storage array: WWN of the remote storage array, from last known data in the cache
  • Communication status

Viewing Synchronization Progress

The progress bar at the bottom of the Mirroring tab of the Virtual Disk Properties dialog displays the progress of a .

Note: The Synchronization progress bar displays for all local virtual disks, but not for remote virtual disks, if the virtual disk is currently in the process of synchronizing.

Viewing Virtual Disk Copy Properties

To view properties for a , the Virtual Disk Copy Premium Feature must be enabled. See Enabling Premium Features procedures for more information. Perform the following steps:

Select a or  in the Logical View. Use the  dialog to obtain a list of available .

Select Virtual Disk >> Properties.

Viewing a Virtual Disk Copy in Progress

From the Virtual Disk Properties dialog, select Copying tab. The progress bar at the bottom of the Copying tab displays the rate of completion for a virtual disk copy.

The progress bar displays only when a virtual disk copy has a status of In Progress.
