Moving an HBA Host Port

Use the Move Host Port option if you are moving a  ( ) from one  to another host and, if needed, changing the  of the HBA host port. Perform the following steps:

From the  window, select a host port in the Topology View, and select Mappings >> Move.

Select the new host from the New host list. The list displays an alphabetical list of all defined hosts.

Select the new host type from the New Host Type list.

Note: Change the host type only if the host, where the HBA host port is being moved to, has a different host type than that currently defined for the HBA host port.

Click OK.

The changed HBA host port-to-host definition is saved, and the dialog closes. The HBA host port is moved from the previous host and is now displayed under the new host. The HBA host port inherits the  of the new host.

Note: If the HBA host port was the only port listed under the previous host, the previous host is still displayed in the Topology View and retains its current virtual disk-to-LUN mappings. However, these virtual disk-to-LUN mappings will be inaccessible until you redefine at least one associated HBA host port for this host.
