Removing an HBA Host Port, Host, Host Group, or Virtual Disk Mapping
Use the Remove Mappings option to perform the following actions:
Remove a , , or from the Topology View

Important:
You cannot remove the root () node or the node.
If you are removing the last virtual disk-to-LUN mapping for a host group and the host group also has hosts with specific virtual disk-to-LUN mappings, ensure that you remove or move those mappings before removing the last virtual disk-to-LUN mapping for the host group.
If a host group, host, or HBA host port is mapped to a with a reservation, you must clear the reservation before you can remove these elements.

From the window, select a host group, host, or HBA host port from the Topology View, or a single virtual disk from the Defined Mappings View. Then select Mappings >> Remove.

Click Yes to remove the node or the virtual disk-to-LUN mapping, and close the Remove confirmation dialog.

Host Group
The host group and its associated hosts and HBA host ports are removed from the Topology View.
Any default virtual disk-to-LUN mappings associated with the Default Group are unaffected and remain in the Topology View.
Any HBA host ports that were associated with the host group become undefined. For information on how to view the undefined HBA host ports, see Showing All Host Port Information.
Host
The host and its associated HBA host ports are removed from the Topology View.
Any default virtual disk-to-LUN mappings associated with the Default Group are unaffected and remain in the Topology View. Also, if the host is part of a host group, the host group is unaffected.
Any HBA host ports that were associated with the host become undefined. For information on how to view the undefined HBA host ports, see Showing All Host Port Information.
HBA host port associated with a host group or a host
The HBA host port is removed from the Topology View and is no longer associated with a host group or host. However, any host group or host associated with the HBA host port is unaffected.
Any default virtual disk-to-LUN mapping associated with the Default Group are unaffected.
Host Group, Host, or HBA Host Port That Has Specific Virtual Disk-to-LUN Mappings

Any specific virtual disk-to-LUN mappings are deleted from the Defined Mappings View and the associated virtual disks are available for a new mapping by selecting Define >> Additional Mapping.

Host
The host and its associated HBA host ports are removed from the Topology View.
Any specific virtual disk-to-LUN mappings are deleted from the Defined Mappings View and the associated virtual disks are available for a new mapping by selecting Define >> Additional Mapping.
If the host is part of a host group that has its own specific virtual disk-to-LUN mappings, then the host group is unaffected. However, if the host is part of a host group that does not have any other mappings, then the host group and any other associated hosts or HBA host ports are moved back to the Default Group and inherit any default mappings.
Any HBA host ports that were associated with the host become undefined. For information about how to view the undefined HBA host ports, see Showing All Host Port Information.
HBA Host Port
The HBA host port is removed from the Topology View and is no longer associated with a host group or host. However, any host group or host associated with the HBA host port is unaffected.
Any specific virtual disk-to-LUN mappings associated with the host group or host are unaffected. However, if this was the last HBA host port, these virtual disk-to-LUN mappings are inaccessible until you redefine associated hosts and HBA host ports.
A Virtual Disk-To-LUN Mapping in the Defined Mappings View

The only virtual disk-to-LUN mapping associated with a host group or a host
The virtual disk-to-LUN mapping is removed from the Defined Mappings View. The associated virtual disk is available for a new mapping by selecting Define >> Additional Mapping.
The host group, hosts, or both, and HBA host ports associated with the mapping are moved back under the Default Group in the Topology View and inherit any default mappings.
If this mapping is associated with a host group and one or more of its hosts has specific mappings, the deletion is not allowed until you move or delete the specific mappings of the hosts.
One of many virtual disks associated with a host group or a host
The virtual disk-to-LUN mapping is removed from the Topology View and is no longer associated with its respective host group or host. The associated virtual disk is available for a new mapping by selecting Define >> Additional Mapping.
