Create Snapshot Virtual Disk Wizard: Process Overview - UNIX

The following process overview outlines the key steps required to create and reuse a  on the following UNIX-based operating systems, using regular disks:

• HP-UX 11.0 (or higher)
• IRIX 6.5 (or higher)
• Linux Redhat 6.2 or 7.x
• Solaris 2.6, 2.7 (Solaris 7), and 2.8 (Solaris 8)

	Create the snapshot virtual disk (create snapshotVirtual Disk or GUI equivalent)
	Define
	Discover snapshot virtual disk (hot_add or OS-specific method)
	Disable the snapshot virtual disk (disableSnapshot virtual disk or GUI equivalent)
	Stop the host application or suspend data transfer
	Unmount the
	Re-create the snapshot virtual disk (recreateSnapshot virtual disk or GUI equivalent)
	Re-mount the source virtual disk
	Restart the host application
	Mount/remount the snapshot virtual disk
	Snapshot virtual disk is ready for use (backup, speculative test, upgrades)
	Unmount the snapshot virtual disk
	Disable the snapshot virtual disk until required again (for backup or testing) (disableSnapshot virtual disk or GUI equivalent)
