Dynamic Segment Sizing (DSS)

Dynamic Segment Sizing (DSS) describes a  where the  for a select  is changed to increase or decrease the number of data blocks that the segment size contains. A segment is the amount of data that the  writes on a single physical disk in a virtual disk before writing data on the next physical disk.

This modification operation is considered to be "dynamic" because you have the ability to continually access data on , virtual disks, and disk physical disks throughout the entire operation.

Important: You cannot cancel this operation after it begins.

For more information, see Changing the Segment Size of a Virtual Disk on the How To tab.
