How do I match an HBA host port identifier to a host?
Important: You must associate identifiers () with the appropriate ??to ensure proper access to the data on the virtual disks. If you associate the wrong HBA host ports, you might cause unintended access to data.
To determine the available HBA host port identifiers, check the ??for each each HBA host bus adapter card in your host. Use the World Wide Name information gathered from the BIOS to associate the HBA host port identifiers (World Wide Names) to a host in the Define Host Wizard: Specify Name/Port Identifier dialog. The HBA host port identifiers shown in this dialog are automatically detected by the and are not associated with a particular host. You must correctly associate each HBA host port identifier with its associated host; otherwise, the host will access incorrect .
When you associate HBA host port identifiers with the appropriate hosts, they are removed from the Known HBA port names list.
Note: Some HBA host port identifiers in the Known HBA port names list are other devices on the loop and might not be associated with host bus adapters.
