Changing the Preferred Loop ID of a RAID Controller Module Host Interface Port

Use the Change Preferred Loop ID option to change the  of the    used in a  connection. This is the only way to set the preferred loop ID for RAID controller modules that do not have a loop ID hardware switch on the back of the RAID controller module enclosure. In addition, this option lets you override or extend the hardware switch settings of RAID controller modules that contain a loop ID switch.

Important: If your Fibre Channel driver manages based on Loop-ID (or ), do not change the Preferred ID value.

Select a RAID controller module in the Physical View, then select RAID Controller Module >> Change >> Preferred Loop ID.

Select a RAID controller module port from the    I/O interfaces table, then click Change Preferred ID.

Select one of the following:

Normal (0-125)

Use this option to assign a normal Preferred ID value to the RAID controller module port. Select a value from the spinner box.

If the RAID controller module port currently has a Preferred ID between 0 and 125, this radio button is selected by default, and the current ID is shown in the spinner box.

N-port only (126)

Use this option only to configure the RAID controller module host interface as a point-to-point connection.

Important: This forces the RAID controller module to operate as an N-port, disabling loop mode.

If the RAID controller module port currently has a Preferred ID of 126, this radio button is selected by default.

Set during loop initialization (127)

Use this option to assign the RAID controller module port to accept any available address during loop initialization.

If the RAID controller module port currently has a Preferred ID of 127, this radio button is selected by default.

Click OK.

The Preferred Loop ID of the RAID controller module port is changed.
