Activate Remote Virtual Disk Mirroring Wizard: Introduction

Use this dialog to specify where to allocate capacity for the .

Important: The  or  node you select for the mirror  must have a total of 256 MB capacity available. Two  are created on this capacity, one for each . Any existing Mirror Repository Virtual Disks with a capacity of 4 MB will need to be upgraded to 128 MB. For more information on upgrading Mirror Repository Virtual Disks, refer to Using the Upgrade Mirror Repository Virtual Disk Wizard.

Choose where you would like to place the Mirror Repository Virtual Disks.

Note: If you do not highlight either type of node, the Free Capacity option is selected, unless there is no capacity available, in which case the Unconfigured Capacity option is selected.

Two options are available:

  •    on existing  

    This option is selected by default if you first highlighted a  in the Logical View before entering the Wizard. This option is also the default selection if you have free capacity on the , but no unconfigured capacity.

    A list shows free capacity nodes on existing disk groups in addition to their capacities and RAID levels. Select the node on which to place the , then click Next to continue the virtual disk creation process. The Activate Remote Virtual Disk Mirroring: Preview dialog is displayed.
  •    (create new disk group)

    This option is selected if you first highlighted the Unconfigured Capacity node in the Logical View or if you selected  in the Physical View before entering the Wizard. This option is also the default selection if you have unconfigured capacity on the storage array but do not have free capacity on any existing disk groups.

    Click Next to continue the virtual disk creation process by creating a new disk group. The Activate Remote Virtual Disk Mirroring: Create Disk Group dialog is displayed.
