What IPv6 address notations are acceptable?

The address increased the address size to 128 bits or 16 bytes. There are several options for representing the IPv6 address as a text string.

Important:

• The IPv6 address can be represented by eight 16-bit hexadecimal blocks separated by colons (:).

  You can use these IPv6 address notations only in the Add Device dialog.

• Leading zeros in a 16-bit block can be dropped.

  2001:DB8:0:56:0:ABCD:EF12:1234

• A double colon (::) can replace consecutive zeros or leading or trailing zeros within the same IPv6 address. A double colon can appear only once in the IPv6 address.

  2001:DB8::56:0:ABCD:EF12:1234
