out-of-band storage array

A storage array in which the RAID controller modules are managed through an Ethernet connection from a storage management station to the storage array. The RAID controller modules also use the Ethernet connection to send event information back to the storage management station. Data is sent to the storage array through the input/output (I/O) connections between the host and the storage array.
