iSCSI initiator
A component that implements the iSCSI protocol and provides storage connectivity between a host and a storage array that has
iSCSI host ports. The iSCSI initiator might be implemented as a software component that runs on the host and provides connectivity
through an Ethernet network interface card (NIC) or a Transmission Control Procotol (TCP) offload adapter. Alternatively,
it might be a host bus adapter with the iSCSI protocol implemented on the host bus adapter.
