Introducing the Enterprise Management Window

The Enterprise Management Window is Java technology-based software that runs on a  . A Tree view in the left pane of the window shows discovered and added  and their   conditions. A Table view in the right pane presents more detailed information for each storage array.

The Enterprise Management Window provides the following primary storage management functions:

• Discovers , and   on your local sub-network. For more information, see Discovering Hosts and Storage Arrays, Rescanning a Discovered Host and Enterprise Storage Management.
• Provides the ability to manually add hosts, and managed storage arrays and also remove them. For more information, see Adding a Host or Storage Array, Removing a Host or Managed Storage Array, and Enterprise Storage Management.
• Allows you to add storage array comments to the Table view. For more information, see Adding or Editing a Comment to a Managed Storage Array.
• Provides the ability to sort rows in the Table view according to different criteria.
• Stores your Enterprise Management Window view preferences and configuration data in local . The next time you open the Enterprise Management Window from this storage management station, data from your configuration files is used to display your customized view and preferences.
• Monitors the condition of managed storage arrays and reports a high-level status using appropriate icons. For more information, see Monitoring Managed Storage Array Status.
• Provides the ability to configure alert notifications (email or SNMP traps) and report critical events to the configured . For more information, see Configuring Email and SNMP Alert Notification Settings and Configuring Mail Server and Sender Address.
• Loads the appropriate management window?? for a selected managed storage array to allow detailed configuration and management operations. For more information, see Launching a Management Window for a Managed Storage Array.
