Start Disk Group Defragment

This command starts a defragment operation on the specified physical disk group.

Important: Defragmenting a physical disk group starts a long-running operation that you cannot stop.

Syntax

start diskGroup [volumeGroupNumber] defragment

Parameters

Parameter	Description
diskGroup	The number of the physical disk group that you want to defragment. Enclose the physical disk group number in square brackets ([ ]).

Notes

Host I/O errors might result in the physical disk groups with more than 32 virtual disks. This operation also might result in internal RAID controller module reboots because the timeout period ends before the physical disk group definition is set. If you experience this issue, quiesce the host I/O operations, and try the command again.
