Clear Storage Array Configuration

Use this command to perform one of the following three functions:

• Clear the entire storage system configuration, and return it back to the initial installation state
• Clear the configuration except for the security information and the identification information
• Clear the physical disk group configuration information and the virtual disk configuration information only

Caution: Possible damage to the storage system configuration – As soon as you run this command, the existing storage system configuration is deleted.

Syntax

clear storageArray configuration [all | volumeGroups]

Parameters

Parameter	Description

Parameter	Description
None	If you do not enter a parameter, this command removes all configuration information for the storage system, except for the information related to security and identification.
all	The setting to remove the entire configuration of the storage system, including security and identification information. Removing all configuration information returns the storage system to its initial state. The selection might cause the storage system to become unresponsive. If this condition occurs, remove and then re-add the storage system to re-establish communications.
volumeGroups	The setting to remove the virtual disk configuration and the disk group configuration. The rest of the configuration stays intact.

7.10 adds these parameters:

• all
• volumeGroups

None

If you do not enter a parameter, this command removes all configuration information for the storage system, except for the information related to security and identification.

The setting to remove the entire configuration of the storage system, including security information and identification information. Removing all configuration information returns the storage system to its initial state.

volumeGroups

The setting to remove the virtual disk configuration and the physical disk group configuration. The rest of the configuration stays intact.

Notes

When you run this command, the storage system becomes unresponsive, and all script processing is canceled. You must remove and re-add the storage system to resume communication with the host. To remove an unresponsive storage system, access the Enterprise Management Window, and select Edit >> Remove. To re-add the storage system, access the Enterprise Management Window, select Edit >> Add Storage Array, and enter the appropriate IP addresses.
