Moving an HBA Host Port

When you move a , you move the HBAhost port from one to another host. You also can change the of the HBA host port.

Use these guidelines when moving an HBA host port:

• If the HBA host port has a , that virtual disk registration is deleted.
• If you are replacing a failed with a new host adapter, you must replace the HBA host port.

Use this sequence when moving an HBA host port:

1. Physically remove the SAS host bus adapter from the host.
2. Use Move HBA Host Port to move the HBA host port to the new host.
3. Physically insert the host adapter into the new host.
4. Reboot both hosts so that the host operating systems can recognize the changes.
