What should I do before downloading physical disk packages?

Before you start downloading the package, you must complete the following tasks:

• Stop all activity to the storage array to prevent application errors.
• Make sure that all data on affected physical disks is backed up by doing a virtual disk copy to a virtual disk located on a different disk group or by backing up to tape.
• Make sure that the that you download to the physical disks is compatible with the physical disks that you select. If you download non-compatible firmware, you might not be able to use the selected physical disks.
