Unsupported Expansion Enclosure

What Caused the Problem?

Your storage array contains one or more unsupported expansion enclosures. The Recovery Guru Details area provides specific information you will need as you follow the Recovery Steps. Refer to your hardware documentation to confirm the list of supported expansion enclosures.

Caution: Electrostatic discharge can damage sensitive components. Always use proper antistatic protection when handling components. Touching components without using a proper ground may damage equipment.

Important Notes

If the expansion enclosure detects an EMM with back-level firmware, then this procedure can be generated.

Recovery Steps

If the unsupported expansion enclosure status resulted because...	Then...
The expansion enclosure detected an EMM with back-level firmware	Go to step 4.
An unsupported expansion enclosure was connected	Go to step 3.

Manually synchronize the firmware on the two EMM modules by downloading the latest Dell-released expansion enclosure firmware using the EMM firmware download option in the Storage Manager software.

Remove the unsupported expansion enclosure identified in the Details area of this Recovery Guru procedure.

Click the Recheck button to rerun the Recovery Guru. The failure should no longer appear in the Summary area. If the failure appears again, contact your technical support representative.
