Your storage array has one controller Go to "Procedure for Storage Arrays with One Controller."
Your storage array has two controllers Ensure that multipath failover driver is installed and running on all attached hosts.

Go to "Procedure for Storage Arrays with Two Controllers."

Procedure for Storage Arrays with One Controller

1 From the Support tab, click the View Storage Array Profile link, and then click the Controllers tab. Check the replacement part number of the affected controller and ensure that you have a new controller with the same replacement part number.

If you do not have a controller with the appropriate replacement part number, contact your technical support representative.

2 Stop all I/O to this storage array.

3

Turn off power to both of the redundant power supplies in the storage array.

4 Remove the affected RAID controller module.

Refer to the Summary tab to view which management method you are using to manage this storage array.

If using DHCP configuration on the RAID controller module, before you insert a new controller into the storage array if needed first update the DHCP server so that it will associate the new controller's hardware Ethernet (MAC) address with the IP address previously assigned to the removed controller.

5 Important: If the new RAID controller module does NOT contain a battery, insert the battery from the old RAID controller module into the new replacement RAID controller module. Consult your hardware documentation for details.

Make sure at least 1 minute has elapsed. Then, insert the new (compatible) RAID controller module firmly into place.

6 Turn on power to all power supply/cooling fan modules in the tray.

Wait until all drives have completed the spin-up process, and then go to step 7.

7 From the Support tab, click the View Storage Array Profile link, and then click the Controllers tab.

Check the status of the RAID controller module. The RAID controller module should have an optimal status.

8 Click the Recheck button to rerun the Recovery Guru. The failure should no longer appear in the Summary area. If the failure appears again, contact your technical support representative.
