Learn About Using the Array Management Window Online Help

The  online help is a JavaHelpTM system, featuring a window with a toolbar and two panes, as shown in the following figure:

If an Array Management Window help topic refers you to the Enterprise Management Window online help, launch the online help from the Help pull-down menu on the Enterprise Management Window.

Key Components of Help

Toolbar

The Toolbar consists of four buttons:

  • Left arrow button - Returns to the previously viewed topic or section.
  • Right arrow button - Views a page you viewed before clicking the Left Arrow button.
  • Print button - Prints a single or multiple help topics. To print multiple topics, select a group of topics in a navigation pane, then choose the Print button to print them all at one time.

    Note: The Number of copies is set to the last number entered. Be sure to check this field to be sure that you do not print more copies than necessary.

  • Page Setup button - Specifies printing parameters.

Important: Some operating systems might experience problems when printing if a default printer has not been set. Refer to your specific operating system documentation for information on printer settings.

Navigation Pane

The Navigation Pane consists of six tabs.

How To

Use this tab to view a list of links to procedural topics.

  • Double-click a folder to expand or collapse the display of topics it contains.
  • Highlight a topic to display its associated help information in the Content Pane.

Frequently Asked

Use this tab to view a list of links to Frequently Asked topics.

  • Highlight a topic to display its associated help information in the Content Pane.

Learn More

Use this tab to view a list of links to conceptual topics.

  • Double-click the Learn More folder to expand or collapse the display of topics it contains.
  • Highlight a topic to display its associated help information in the Content Pane.

Glossary

Use this tab to view a list of links to glossary terms.

  • Double-click the Glossary folder to expand or collapse the display of topics it contains.
  • Highlight a Glossary term to display its definition in the Content Pane.

Index

Use this tab to view the Help index.

  • Double-click an entry to expand or collapse the display of topics under it.
  • Highlight an entry to display its associated help information in the Content Pane.
  • To search for an index entry term, type a word in the Find field. This action causes the first index entry that matches your query to be highlighted. If the index entry is directly associated with a topic, the topic is displayed in the Content Pane. To view the next match for your query, press Enter. Continue pressing Enter to see every match returned from your query, one at a time.

Full Text Search

Use this tab to search for a specific term or phrase.

To search for a natural language phrase, select the Full Text Search tab, type the phrase in the Find field, then press Enter.

Content Pane

The Content Pane displays the help topics.

Jump links and hyperlinks appear in blue. To use a link, click the desired link.

Use the Full Text Search tab to search for a specific term or phrase.

Troubleshooting

The following table describes known problems that you might encounter when using the online help system.

Images are rendered incorrectly in the Content Pane, as shown in the following example:

Display another help topic, then re-display the topic with the incorrectly rendered graphic.

The graphic is correctly rendered.

You receive a "Null Pointer Exception" Java error while using the help system.

In most cases, you can ignore this error and re-attempt to access the particular topic. If the problem persists, contact Customer and Technical Support.

When following a hypertext link in a help topic to another header within the topic, the referenced information displays in the center of the content pane instead of at the top.

This is a known problem, and there is no solution for the current release.

You receive a "Helpset File Error: Helpset is Corrupt or Not Found" error when accessing the help system.

Follow the instructions on the dialog to recover from the problem. If the problem persists, contact Customer and Technical Support.
