Define the storage partition using the Storage Partitioning Wizard. To learn more about the wizard, see A Preview of the Storage Partitioning Wizard. You can also define storage partitions by using the Define Additional Mapping dialog. For more information, see Defining Additional Virtual Disk-to-LUN Mapping. |
Important:
You can include a
in a partition. However, any hosts mapped to the secondary virtual disk will have read-only access until the virtual disk is promoted to a , or the mirror relationship is removed. Storage Partitioning fails under the following conditions:
- All virtual disk-to-LUN mappings are defined.
- You attempted to create a virtual disk-to-LUN mapping for a host group that conflicts with an established virtual disk-to-LUN mapping for a host in the host group.
- You attempted to create a virtual disk-to-LUN mapping for a host in a host group that conflicts with an established virtual disk-to-LUN mapping for the host group.
Storage Partitioning is unavailable under the following conditions:
- The Storage Partitioning
is not enabled. For information on enabling premium features, see Enabling Premium Features. - No valid host groups or hosts exist in the Mappings View.
- No HBA host ports have been defined for the host being included in the partition.
- All virtual disk-to-LUN mappings have been defined.
