Defining a Host

Use this option to define a new . Perform the following steps:

From the  window, select either the storage array, Default Group, or a  in the Topology View, and select Mappings >> Define >> Host.

Type the name of the new host in the field.

Either click Add to save the newly-defined host and leave the dialog box open to define another host, or click Close.

The host appears in one of the following ways:

If you selected the following node when you defined the host...

Then the host Omaha appears under...

Storage Array or Default Group

The Default Group node in the Topology View.

Note: When you select Host Omaha and define a specific  for that host, the Host node will move from under the Default Group to under the storage array node indicating that it has a specific virtual disk-to-LUN mapping.

Host Group

The selected Host Group. For example, if you selected Host Group Omaha and defined Host Omaha A, this host now appears under the Host Group Omaha in the Topology View.
