Saving a Storage Array Configuration

Use the Save Configuration option in the  to save logical configuration settings of a  to a script file. You can then select Tools >> Load Storage Array Configuration in the Enterprise Management Window to copy the configuration data from the saved file to a storage array with the exact hardware configuration. (For more information on the Load Configuration option, refer to the Enterprise Management Window online help.)

The Save Configuration option allows you to save storage array settings,  configuration, , and . If there are individual topology items or virtual disks that you do not want to include in the saved configuration, you can edit the script file after it has been saved.

Use the following procedure to save a storage array configuration:

 Caution: Risk of Application Errors. Do not use this option if the storage array is undergoing an operation that will change any logical configuration setting, such as:

  • Creating or deleting virtual disks
  • Changing  settings
  • Downloading  
  • Assigning or modifying global hot spares
  • Adding capacity (physical disks) to a

Important: The Save Configuration option does not save the following settings:

  • Battery age
  • RAID Controller Module time of day
  •  settings
  • Any
  • Storage array password
  • Hardware component operating status and states
  • Disk group operating status (except ) and states

Select Storage Array >> Configuration >> Save.

2 Select the elements of the configuration that you want to save:
  • Storage array settings (selected by default)
  • Virtual Disk configuration (selected by default)
  • Virtual Disk-to-LUN mappings
  • Topology
Note: If you select Virtual Disk-to-LUN mappings element, the Virtual Disk configuration and Topology elements are selected by default as well. Virtual Disk-to-LUN mappings cannot be saved without also saving Virtual Disk configuration and Topology.

Click Yes.

Specify a name for the script file.

Note: The .cfg extension is used by default for the script file if you do not specify a file extension.

Click Save.

6 Review the information in the Configuration Saved dialog, and click OK.
