Serial Attached SCSI (SAS)

An evolution of parallel Small Computer System Interface (SCSI) into a peripheral interface that is point-to-point and serial in which controllers are linked directly to drives. SAS is a performance improvement over traditional SCSI. SAS devices can communicate with both Serial Advanced Technology Attachment (SATA) and SCSI devices.
