Loading a Storage Array Configuration

Use the Load Configuration option to load the logical configuration information of a from a script file onto another storage array.

To use the Load Configuration option, you must first select Storage Array >> Configuration >> Save in the to save the storage array configuration information to a script file. For more information, see "Saving a Storage Array Configuration" in the Array Management Window Help.

Procedure

Caution: Risk of data loss - Before loading any new configuration, ensure that all data on affected physical disks has been backed up. If loading an entire storage array's configuration, reset the configuration before continuing. For more information, see Resetting a Storage Array Configuration in the Array Management Window online help.

Important:

To load a storage array configuration, perform the following steps:

From the , select the storage array to which you will load the configuration, and select Tools >> Load Storage Array Configuration.

Note: The Load Configuration option is grayed out if the Script Editor window is open.

Review the information on the dialog, and click Yes.

Select the script file you want to load using the Load Script dialog, and click OK.

Select Execute to immediately execute the loaded script, or click Edit to modify the script file as desired.

Note: To execute or edit a script, use the menu items within the Script Editor dialog, not the menu items in the Enterprise Management Window.

Note: If an error occurs, the Load Configuration operation stops and a message appears in the lower portion (Output View) of the Script Editor dialog indicating the nature of the error. Correct the error, and then repeat the Load Configuration procedure starting with step 1. All configuration information that was loaded onto the storage array during the first Load Configuration attempt is deleted during the next Load Configuration operation.
