The Array Management Window is launched from the Enterprise Management Window and is used to configure and maintain the logical and physical components of a storage array and to view and define virtual disk-to-LUN mappings. The key management tasks performed in the AMW include:
The Array Management Window is specific to an individual storage array; therefore, you can manage only a single storage array within an Array Management Window. However, you can start other Array Management Windows from the Enterprise Management Window to simultaneously manage multiple storage arrays.
There are two Array Management Window views. The Logical/Physical View presents a picture of the organization of storage array capacity into logical entities called disk groups and virtual disks. The Logical/Physical view also presents a picture of the physical storage arrays in the storage array, such as RAID controller modules, physical disks, and other components. The Mappings View enables you to define topological elements (host groups, hosts, and host bus adapter [HBA] host ports), and define and change virtual disk-to-LUN mappings to grant virtual disk access to host groups and hosts and create storage partitions.
Important: Depending on your version of storage management software, the views, menu options, and functionality might be different than the information presented in the online help. For information on available functionality, refer to the documentation supplied with your version of storage management software.
