Set Disk Group
This command defines the properties for a physical disk group.
Syntax
set diskGroup [volumeGroupNumber] addPhysical Disks=(trayID1,slotID1 ... trayIDn,slotIDn) raidLevel=(0 | 1 | 3 | 5 | 6) owner=(a | b) availability=(online | offline)
Parameters
Parameter Description diskGroup
The sequence number of the physical disk group for which you want to set properties. Enclose the physical disk group number in square brackets ([ ]).
addPhysical Disks
The physical disk, by enclosure and slot location, that you want to include in the physical disk group. Enclosure ID values are 0 to 99. Slot ID values are 1 to 32. Enclose the enclosure ID values and the slot ID values in parentheses.
raidLevel
The RAID level for the physical disk group. Valid values are 0, 1, 3, 5, or 6.
availability
The setting for the physical disk group, which is either online or offline.
owner
The RAID controller module that owns the physical disk group. Valid RAID controller module identifiers are a or b, where a is the RAID controller module in slot A, and b is the RAID controller module in slot B. Use this parameter only if you want to change the physical disk group owner.
Notes
Host I/O errors might result in the physical disk groups with more than 32 virtual disks. This operation also might result in internal RAID controller module reboots because the timeout period ends before the physical disk group definition is set. If you experience this issue, quiesce the host I/O operations, and try the command again.
When you use this command, you can specify one or more of the parameters.
Important: Specifying the addPhysical Disks parameter or the raidLevel parameter starts a long-running operation that you cannot stop.
