Replaced Physical Disk - Wrong Type or Insufficient Capacity

What Caused the Problem?

A wrong type physical disk or insufficient capacity physical disk has been inserted into the storage array. The Recovery Guru Details area provides specific information you will need as you follow the recovery steps.

Caution: Electrostatic discharge can damage sensitive components. Always use proper antistatic protection when handling components. Touching components without using a proper ground may damage the equipment.

Important Notes

The wrong type physical disk or insufficient capacity physical disk is still functional and can be used elsewhere in the storage array.
Refer to your hardware documentation or call your technical support representative for information on which physical disks are certified for your storage array and present on the enclosure specified.
You can replace a failed physical disk while the storage array is receiving I/O.

Recovery Steps

1	Remove the physical disk of a wrong type or insufficient capacity (its fault indicator light should be on).
2	Wait 30 seconds, then insert a physical disk of a correct type and sufficient capacity. The fault indicator light on the physical disk may be lit for a short time (one minute or less).
3	Click the Recheck button to rerun the Recovery Guru. The failure should no longer appear in the Summary area. If the failure appears again, contact your technical support representative.
