Locating a Storage Array

Use the Blink option to physically locate and identify a . An indicator light is turned on on each physical disk in the storage array. You can use this option, for example, to identify the particular storage array currently displayed in the  so that it can be renamed and labeled.

Select Storage Array >> Blink >> Storage Array.

The indicator lights on the physical disks in the storage array blink.

When you have located the storage array, click OK.

The lights stop blinking. If any other Blink operations (Blink Disk Group, Blink Physical Disk Channels, Blink Expansion Enclosure, or Blink Physical Disk) are being invoked from another , these lights also stop blinking.

Note: If the lights from the Blink Storage Array operation do not stop blinking, select Stop All Indications to stop the process manually.

Stopping All Indicator Lights

Normally, the indicator lights stop blinking when you click OK in the Blink Storage Array, Blink Physical Disk Channels, Blink Disk Group, Blink Expansion Enclosure, or Blink Physical Disk dialogs. Use the Stop All Indications option in the rare case that a Blink operation has not properly closed and the indicator lights on the storage array physical disks continue to blink.

From the , select Storage Array >> Blink >> Stop All Indications.

If indicator lights successfully stop blinking, a confirmation message is displayed.
