A modification operation is a -based operation, where the RAID controller module is required to write and, in some cases, rewrite data to , , and disk physical disks.
Important: The RAID controller module firmware can only process one exclusive modification operation per disk group at a time. A warning message will be displayed if more than one modification operation is attempted. Additionally, the firmware is limited to four active exclusive modification operations at a time per RAID controller module.
Important: You cannot start a dynamic reconfiguration operation for any virtual disk that contains unreadable sectors.
Modification operations include:
a disk group
to a physical disk that is part of a disk group
of a virtual disk
change for a virtual disk
of a physical disk that is part of a disk group
change for a disk group
, to increase a disk group's capacity using unconfigured capacity (in the form of unused physical disks)
, to increase a virtual disk's capacity using free capacity available on the disk group of the standard or snapshot
