Manual Resynchronization

An option available for , that allows you to manually determine when data on the  and  should be resynchronized after a link interruption or  error causes the  to become , is corrected.

When the  of the primary virtual disk receives a write request from a , the  first logs information about the write to a  then writes the data to the primary virtual disk. The RAID controller module then initiates a write operation to copy the affected data to the secondary virtual disk on the remote, secondary .

If a link interruption or virtual disk error prevents communication with the secondary storage array, the RAID controller module owner of the primary virtual disk transitions the mirrored pair into an  and sends an I/O completion to the host sending the write request. A Needs Attention   icon is also displayed for the storage array.

When connectivity is restored between the primary storage array and the secondary storage array, the Remote Virtual Disk Mirror will remain in an Unsynchronized state until you manually resume the data transfer between the mirrored pair, select Virtual Disk >> Remote Virtual Disk Mirroring >> Resume.
