SMrepassist (replication assistance) is a -based utility for Windows platforms. It performs functions required to ensure that the hardware creates an accurate or , and that signatures and file system partitions are recognized by the driver.
The command entered to run this utility is:
SMrepassist -f [filesystem-identifier]
where -f flushes all the memory-resident data for the file system indicated by [filesystem-identifier]
where [filesystem-identifier] = specifies a unique file system in the following syntax:
physical disk-letter: [mount-point-path]=the file system may include only a physical disk letter, or a physical disk letter plus a mount point
An error message is provided in the command line and the are listed as a virtual disk set when the utility cannot distinguish between the:
and snapshot virtual disk (for example, if the snapshot virtual disk has been removed)
and virtual disk copy (for example, if the virtual disk copy has been removed)
