Define Host Wizard: Specify Host Type

Use this dialog to specify the  (operating system) of the  that you are defining. This action determines how the input/output (I/O) requests from the host are handled by the  in the . If you are not using , then all of the hosts you define are in the . The Default Group has a default host type. This action determines how I/O requests from the host are handled.

Note: To change the default host type for all of the hosts, select Storage Array >> Change >> Default Host Type.

Use the following procedure to specify the host type of the host that you are defining.

Select the appropriate host type (operating system) from the drop-down list. Be sure to select the proper operating system because some host types have several variations.

Click Next to move to the next wizard dialog.
