Changing RAID Controller Module Mode

If a  remains in , complete the steps below to return it to  mode.

Select the passive RAID controller module in the Physical View. The RAID controller module icon indicates that the RAID controller module is in passive mode.

Select RAID Controller Module >> Change >> Mode to Active.

The Confirm Change to Active Mode dialog is displayed.

Click Yes.

The RAID controller module changes to active mode. The RAID controller module icon in the Physical View changes to Active.

Disk Group and Virtual Disk Transfer

Disk groups and their associated  will automatically be moved to the newly active RAID controller module under the following circumstances:

If

Then

The newly active RAID controller module previously owned  and their associated virtual disks

If  is enabled, the disk groups and virtual disks will automatically be transferred back to the original RAID controller module as I/O request are received for each virtual disk.

If AVT is not enabled, use the Advanced >> Recovery >> Redistribute Virtual Disks option to move the disk groups and virtual disks back to their preferred RAID controller module.

The newly active RAID controller module never previously owned disk groups and their associated virtual disks

Use Disk Group >> Change >> RAID Controller Module Ownership to move one or more disk groups to this RAID controller module.

or

Use Virtual Disk >> Change >> RAID Controller Module Ownership to move a single virtual disk to this RAID controller module.

or

Create new disk groups and virtual disks and specify this RAID controller module as the owner.
