Launching a Management Window for a Managed Storage Array

When you need to perform individual management operations on a particular , you must launch its by selecting the managed storage array in either the Tree view or the Table view, and select Tools >> Manage Storage Array.

The -specific management window is opened in a separate window. (If the appropriate management window for the selected managed storage array is already open on that , a second instance is not opened.)

Note: You can only monitor eight storage arrays concurrently.

Important: If you have configured more than one network management connection into the managed storage array, the storage management software is aware of each connection and automatically chooses a connection when you attempt to manage the storage array by launching a management window. If a particular connection is currently not responding, the software tries all other configured network management connections into that managed storage array.

In the example on the left, Hosts Alpha and Beta are each providing network management connections to Storage Array Engineering (the storage array appears under each in the Tree view).

The storage array is through the network management connection provided by Beta and therefore cannot be managed using this connection. However, if you select the storage array node under Beta and launch an , the Enterprise Management software opens an Array Management window to manage the storage array using the network management connection provided by Alpha.
