Keyboard Accessibility

This topic defines the keyboard operations that enable you to navigate, select, or activate user interface components:

In general, navigation between components requires these keys:

Shortcut

F1

Opens the online help.

F10

Moves the keyboard focus to the main menu bar and posts the first menu; uses the arrow keys to navigate through the available options.

Alt+F4

Closes the management window.

Alt+F6

Moves the keyboard focus between dialogs (non-modal) and between management windows.

Alt+ underlined letter

Accesses the menu items, buttons, and other interface components by using the keys associated with the underlined letters.

For the menu options, select the Alt + underlined letter combination to access a main menu, and then select the underlined letter to access the individual menu item.

For other interface components, use the Alt + underlined letter combination.

Ctrl+F1

Displays or conceals a tool tip when the keyboard focus is on the toolbar.

Spacebar

Selects an item or activates a hyperlink.

Ctrl+spacebar (contiguous/non-contiguous) - AMW Logical/Physical View

Selects multiple physical disks in the Physical View.

To select multiple physical disks, select one physical disk by pressing spacebar, and then press Tab to switch focus to the next physical disk you want to select; press Ctrl+spacebar to select the physical disk.

If you press spacebar alone when multiple physical disks are selected, then all selections are removed.

Use the Ctrl+spacebar combination to deselect a physical disk when multiple physical disks are selected.

This behavior is the same for contiguous and non-contiguous selection of physical disks.

End, Page Down

Moves the keyboard focus to the last item in the list.

Esc

Closes the current dialog (it does not require keyboard focus).

Home, Page Up

Moves the keyboard focus to the first item in the list.

Shift+Tab

Moves the keyboard focus through the components in the reverse direction.

Ctrl+Tab Moves the keyboard focus from a table to the next user interface component.

Tab

Navigates the keyboard focus between components or selects a hyperlink.

Down arrow

Moves the keyboard focus down one item in the list.

Left arrow

Moves the keyboard focus to the left.

Right arrow

Moves the keyboard focus to the right.

Up arrow

Moves the keyboard focus up one item in the list.
