Configuring Mail Server and Sender Address

You can specify email alert settings for every . The email alert settings you can configure globally are the mail server name and email sender address. The system will use the alert settings when sending email critical alert messages about managed devices.

Note: No global settings are required for the . Traps sent to a or other SNMP server are standard network traffic, and security issues are handled by a system or network administrator.

Description

Mail (SMTP) server

The name of the mail server that forwards the email to configured email .

Email sender address

The sender's email address (usually the network administrator) that appears on every mail message sent to configured email alert destinations.

Important:

To configure mail server and sender address, perform the following steps:

Select Edit >> Configure Alerts.

Select the Mail Server tab. Type the name of the SMTP mail server and the email sender address (required field) in the appropriate text boxes. Use a valid email address.

Click OK.

The global configuration settings are saved and are used when sending future email critical alert messages about managed devices.
