Remote Access Information

Use this window to view the Baseboard Management Controller (BMC) and Remote Access Controller (RAC) general information.

NOTE: You can view RAC information, only if a DRAC card is installed in the system.

Settings

This page lists the base information for your system's BMC and RAC.

NOTE: The LAN configuration fields are displayed as read-only if they are configured to be disabled for inband users.

NOTE: This help page may include information about features not supported by your system. Server Administrator only displays the features that are supported on your system.

BMC/iDRAC

Field Name Description Applicable System
BMC Name Displays the name of your system's BMC.
  • x9xx modular and non-modular systems and earlier
  • xx0x non-modular systems
iDRAC Name Displays the name of your system's iDRAC. xx0x modular systems
IPMI Version Displays the Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) version number of the BMC/iDRAC. Modular and non-modular systems
System GUID Displays the Global Unique Identifier (GUID) for the BMC/iDRAC.  Modular and non-modular systems
Number of Possible Active Sessions Displays the number of possible active sessions running on the BMC/iDRAC.

NOTE: BMC/iDRAC enables up to four active LAN sessions and one active serial session simultaneously.

Number of Current Active Sessions Displays the number of active sessions running on the BMC/iDRAC. Modular and non-modular systems
LAN Enabled

Displays if the local area network (LAN) is enabled (Yes) or disabled (No).

SOL Enabled Displays if the serial over LAN (SOL) connection is enabled (Yes) or disabled (No). Modular and non-modular systems
IP Address Source Displays the source for the BMC IP address as Static or DHCP.  Modular and non-modular systems
IP Address Displays the IP address of the BMC/iDRAC network interface controller (NIC). Modular and non-modular systems
IP Subnet Displays the subnet address of the BMC/iDRAC NIC. Modular and non-modular systems
IP Gateway Displays the gateway address of the BMC/iDRAC NIC. Modular and non-modular systems
MAC Address Displays the MAC address of the BMC/iDRAC NIC. Modular and non-modular systems
Remote Connect Interface Click Launch the iDRAC Web Interface to start the iDRAC home page. You must log in using your iDRAC user name and password. xx0x modular systems

DRAC

Field Name Description Applicable System
Product Displays the product name of the DRAC card. Modular and non-modular systems
Description Describes the functionality offered by the DRAC card. Modular and non-modular systems
Version Specifies the DRAC firmware version. Modular and non-modular systems
IP Address Specifies the IP address that the DRAC card is currently using. Modular and non-modular systems
IP Subnet Specifies the IP address of the subnet mask for the DRAC card. Modular and non-modular systems
IP Gateway Specifies the IP address of the gateway servicing the DRAC NIC. Modular and non-modular systems
Remote Connect Interface Click Launch the DRAC Web Interface to start the DRAC home page. You must log in using your DRAC user name and password. xx0x modular systems

Other Window Controls

Reset to Defaults Allows users with Administrator and Power User privileges to reset the Remote Access settings to default settings.

NOTE: Clicking Reset to Defaults displays a warning message: "Warning: This action will reset all Remote Access settings to their default values. Are you sure you wish to proceed with this action?" You must confirm the message to execute the command. If another Remote Access command is in progress, a warning message displays on all Remote Access related pages: "Warning: Remote Access reset to default in progress. Click Refresh button to refresh this information."
Print Prints a copy of the open window to your default printer.
Export Saves a text file containing the contents of this window (the values of each data field separated by a customizable delimiter) to a destination you specify.
Email E-mails the contents of this window to your designated recipient. See the Server Administrator User's Guide for instructions about configuring your Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) server.
Refresh Updates the screen with latest information.
