Use either the automatic configuration procedure or the manual configuration procedure to create . The automatic configuration procedure quickly creates multiple virtual disks and hot spare physical disks with limited configuration options. The manual configuration is a more involved procedure but provides more configuration options. For example, you can add one or more virtual disks to a current disk group with the manual configuration procedure. You cannot add more virtual disks to a current disk group with the automatic configuration procedure.
Click the Automatic Configuration task from the Configure tab if you want to quickly set up virtual disks. It is not necessary to configure individual options for each virtual disk. When you set up virtual disks with Automatic Configuration, the configuration is based on these conditions:
Click the Create Disk Groups and Virtual Disks task from the Configure tab if you want to create unique virtual disks or disk groups. You create one virtual disk at a time but have control over the RAID level, the disk group, and the virtual disk capacity for each virtual disk and disk group. After you select the type of capacity to use for your virtual disk and disk group, you can automatically select the physical disks or manually select the physical disks for the disk group.
