Interpreting Storage Array Profile Data

The Storage Array Profile contains several tabs, the titles of which each correspond to the subject of the information contained. The following table describes the information unique to the tabs in the Storage Array Profile and provides links to related help topics, which contain more detailed information. If the tab requires no additional detail, it is not described.

All The All tab displays a summary of available storage array profile data. Select another tab to view section-specific information.

Note: Numbers of , , , , mirror pairs, and virtual disk copies are each shown separately in a series of sub-tabs contained in this tab.

The RAID Controller Module tab of the Storage Array Profile contains three data fields that apply only to   . These fields are: , , and . These three terms do not appear on the RAID Controller Module Properties dialog.

For information about any other data field in the RAID Controller Module Information section, see Viewing RAID Controller Module Properties.

Disk Groups The Disk Groups tab displays a summary of the  for each , RAID controller module owner??details, and associated physical disks. In addition, this tab lists information about mirrored pairs on a  disk group. The physical disks are listed in piece order with data physical disks first and then the associated mirror physical disks. See the create command in the Enterprise Management Window online help for more information.

Each Disk Group heading includes a .

Virtual Disks The Virtual Disks tab is divided into six sections, with separate tabs providing access to information for each type of virtual disk. A Missing Virtual Disks tab is only available when  are detected. Select a tab to view the associated information.

Standard

Repositories

Snapshots

  • The Snapshots tab contains a section of virtual disk information that displays snapshot virtual disk properties. The Snapshots tab is only available when the Snapshot  is enabled. For more information, see Viewing Snapshot Virtual Disk Properties.

Missing Virtual Disks

  • The Missing Virtual Disks tab provides a list of all the virtual disks in the storage array that are currently in the Missing state. For more information about missing virtual disks, see Learn About Missing Virtual Disks.

Mirrors

  • The Mirrors tab is a section of virtual disk information that displays  properties. The Mirrors tab is only available when the  is enabled and activated. For more information, see Learn About Remote Virtual Disk Mirroring.

Copies

  • The Copies tab contains a section of virtual disk information that displays  properties. The Copies tab is only available when the Virtual Disk Copy Premium Feature is enabled. For more information, see Viewing Virtual Disk Copy Properties.
Physical Disks The Physical Disks tab provides a summary of the storage array's physical disks, together with detailed information for each specific physical disk.

For more information, see Viewing Physical Disk Properties.

Physical Disk Channels The Physical Disk Channels tab provides information about the status of  in the storage array. Information provided includes the channel status, the RAID Controller Module A and B link status, together with any cumulative error counts for each RAID controller module.

For more information on physical disk channels, see Managing Physical Disk Channel Status.

Enclosures The Enclosures tab displays information for the RAID controller module enclosure and for each expansion enclosure in ascending enclosure ID order. The RAID controller module enclosure section includes specific manufacturer information on the various components, if available. This information can be useful when performing maintenance on the enclosure.

For more information, see Viewing the Status of RAID Enclosure Components and Viewing the Status of Expansion Enclosure Components.

Mappings The Mappings tab displays  information and any topology definitions that have been configured for the storage array.

Note: If the Storage Partitioning feature is not enabled, this area will list all the default virtual disk-to-LUN mappings under the .

For more information, see Learn About Creating Storage Partitions and Learn About Defining Storage Partition Topology.
