Using the Activate Remote Virtual Disk Mirroring Wizard

Use the Activate Remote Virtual Disk Mirroring Wizard option to activate the  on both the  that contains the  candidate and the storage array that contains the  candidate. The wizard guides you through the major steps. Perform the following steps:

Select Storage Array >> Remote Virtual Disk Mirroring >> Activate.

Follow the directions on each wizard dialog, and click Next when you are ready to move to the next wizard dialog.

Note: Each Wizard dialog has context-sensitive help. Click Help to receive help applicable for that particular dialog.

Click OK to close the confirmation dialog.

The following conditions occur:

  • Two Mirror Repository Virtual Disks, one for each , are created as a resource for the RAID controller module managing the .
  •    4 on each RAID controller module is now dedicated to Remote Virtual Disk Mirroring communication.
  • The dedicated HBA host ports will not accept read/write requests from a host application.
  • You can now create a Remote Virtual Disk Mirror.

Note: Before continuing, ensure that the Remote Virtual Disk Mirroring feature is enabled and active on both the primary and secondary storage arrays.

Preview of the Activate Remote Virtual Disk Mirroring Wizard

After enabling the Remote Virtual Disk Mirroring feature and before creating a Remote Virtual Disk Mirror, you must activate the Remote Virtual Disk Mirroring feature.
