Define Host Wizard: Specify Host Name/HBA Attributes

Use this dialog to specify a name for the  and to match the    identifiers to the host you are defining. After you name the host, you must match the HBA host port identifiers to the host you are defining.

How do I match an HBA port identifier to a host?

Use the following procedure to specify a name for the host and to match the HBA host port identifiers to the host:

Type a name for the host that you are defining in the Host name field.

Select the HBA ports that correspond to the host you are defining, and click Add. You can add as many HBA ports as are available for the host.

Important: The list of known HBA port names includes all available ports on the storage array. Be sure to only select the HBA ports for the host you are defining.

Create an alias for each HBA host port by choosing one of the following actions:

Select the name in the Selected HBA host port identifiers/aliases list, and click Edit.

The Edit Port Name/Alias dialog is displayed.

a Type an alias for the port in the field provided.
b Click OK.

To manually add an HBA port name and alias, click New.

The Enter New Port Name/Alias dialog is displayed.

a Type the port identifier.
b Type an alias for the port in the field provided, and click OK.
4 Click Next to specify an operating system (if you are using partitions) or to view a summary of the host definition selections you have made.
