Using the Create Disk Group Wizard

You can create a  from , , or  on the  by using the Create Disk Group Wizard.

To start the Create Disk Group Wizard, use one of the following methods:

  • To create a virtual disk from unconfigured capacity on the storage array:

    Note: Multiple Unconfigured Capacity nodes might appear if your storage array contains mixed . Each disk physical disk type will have an associated Unconfigured Capacity node shown under the Total Unconfigured Capacity node if unassiged disk physical disks are available in the disk expansion enclosure.

    In the Logical View, select an Unconfigured Capacity node, and select Disk Group >> Create.
  • To create a virtual disk from free capacity on a disk group:

    In the Logical View, select a Free Capacity node, and select Disk Group >> Create.
  • To create a disk group from unassigned disk physical disks on the storage array:

    Note: You cannot create a disk group and a subsequent virtual disk from different disk physical disk types. Each disk physical disk in the disk group must be of the same disk physical disk type.

    In the Physical View, select one or more unassigned disk physical disks of the same disk physical disk type, and select Disk Group >> Create.

Follow the directions on each wizard dialog, and click Next.
