Create Virtual Disk Wizard: Allocate Capacity

Use this dialog to create a new  using either  or . This dialog is displayed after you have successfully created a , and clicked Yes to create another new virtual disk. Perform the following steps:

Choose where you would like to create the new virtual disk:

  • Free capacity on the same  (create individual virtual disk):

    This option enables you to create a new virtual disk using the  from the same disk group used to create the previous virtual disk. A list shows Free Capacity nodes available for the select disk group, in addition to their capacities and  levels.

    Select a Free Capacity node from the list of available nodes.
  • Free capacity on different disk group (create individual virtual disk):

    This option allows you to create a new virtual disk using free capacity on a different disk group.

    Select a Free Capacity node from the list of available nodes.
  • Unconfigured capacity (create new disk group): 

    This option allows you to create a new disk group and virtual disk, using any unconfigured capacity available on the . Choose from a list of all the Unconfigured Capacity nodes available on the storage array.

    Note: Multiple Unconfigured Capacity nodes might be displayed if your storage array contains mixed . Each physical disk type has an associated Unconfigured Capacity node displayed if  are available in the expansion enclosure.

    Select an Unconfigured Capacity node from the list of available nodes.

Click Next to move to the next Wizard dialog.
