Remove Virtual Disk LUN Mapping

This command removes the logical unit number mapping.

Syntax

remove (allVirtual Disks | virtualDisk [virtualDiskName] | virtual disks [virtualDiskName1 ... virtualDiskNamen] | accessVirtualDisk) lunMapping (host="hostName" | hostGroup=("hostGroupName" | defaultGroup))

Parameters

Parameter Description

allVirtual Disks

Use this parameter to remove the LUN mapping from all virtual disks.

virtualDisk or virtual disks

Name of the specific virtual disk that you want to remove from the LUN mapping. You can enter more than one virtual disk name. Enclose the virtual disk name in double quotation marks (" ") inside square brackets ([ ]).

accessVirtualDisk

Use this parameter to remove the access virtual disk.

host

The name of the host to which the virtual disk is mapped. Enclose the host name in double quotes (" ").

hostGroup

The name of the host group that contains the host to which the virtual disk is mapped. Enclose the host group name in double quotes (" "). defaultGroup is the host group that contains the host to which the virtual disk is mapped.

Notes

The access virtual disk is the virtual disk in a SAN environment used for communication between the storage management software and the storage array RAID controller module. This virtual disk uses a LUN address and consumes 20 MB of storage space that is not available for application data storage. An access virtual disk is required only for in-band managed storage arrays.

Caution: Removing an access virtual disk can damage your configuration. The agent uses the access virtual disks to communicate with a storage array. If you remove an access virtual disk mapping for a storage array from a host that has an agent running on it, the storage management software will no longer be able to manage the storage array through the agent.

You must use the host and hostGroup parameters when specifying a non-access virtual disk or an access virtual disk. The script engine ignores the host or hostGroup parameters when you use the allVirtual Disks or virtual disks parameters.
