RAID Controller Module Board Identifier Cannot Be Determined

What Caused the Problem?

The RAID controller module listed in the Details area cannot determine the board identifier for the alternate RAID controller module in this storage array. The Recovery Guru Details area provides specific information you will need as you follow the recovery steps.

Caution: Electrostatic discharge can damage sensitive components. Always use proper antistatic protection when handling components. Touching components without using a proper ground may damage the equipment.

Important Notes

This problem can occur due to an error in the RAID controller module that reported the problem, the alternate RAID controller module, the midplane of the enclosure itself, or other reasons. Due to the many possible scenarios, you should contact your technical support representative to help you fix this problem.
The following events will occur until this problem is fixed:
- The storage array will be in a Needs Attention condition.
- A Critical Event will be logged resulting in an Event Notification, if configured.

Recovery Steps

1	From the Support tab, click the Gather support information link. In the Specify file field, enter a name for the file to be saved or browse to a previously saved file if you want to overwrite an existing file. Use the convention "filename.zip" for the name of the file. (The suffix .zip will be added to the file automatically if you do not specify one.) You may also specify another drive and directory if you want to save the file in a location other than the default.
2	Click the Start button.
3	After the process completes, click the OK button.
4	Contact your technical support representative and indicate that a "RAID Controller Module Model or Submodel Identifier Cannot Be Determined" problem is being reported. The support representative will have you send the file you saved in the steps above and wait for further instruction.
