Use the Download Physical Disk Firmware option to transfer a downloadable physical disk package to physical disks in the . Physical Disk firmware packages might include both firmware and mode page files. Executing this option from the causes a file transfer to selected physical disks.
The Download Physical Disk Firmware Wizard helps you select firmware packages and compatible physical disks. Files can be downloaded to multiple physical disks at a time to keep down-time to a minimum. Caution: Risk of application errors -- Stop all I/O activity to the storage array prior to the download to prevent application errors. Before beginning any physical disk firmware downloads, ensure that all data on affected physical disks has been backed up.
Caution: Risk of data loss -- Perform downloads only under the guidance of Customer and Technical Support. Downloading physical disk firmware package files incorrectly could result in performance problems or loss of data.
Caution: Risk of physical disk damage. Possible loss of access to data -- Do not make any configuration changes to the storage array while downloadingphysical disk firmware package files. Doing so could cause the download to fail and make the selected physical disks unusable.
